  Social Change Project    Gender Identity: "My Pronouns"  The fight for rights and recognition for the LGBTQ+ has come a long way. Today, the world is more open to change. You can see being Gay as part of the mainstream, especially in media. Slowly but surely, members of the LGBTQ+ are starting to be accepted on a global scale. Still, some places lack awareness on the more obscure side of the spectrum. For example, the use of unique pronouns for different Gender Identities. The main goal of this project is to spread awareness and knowledge about Gender Identity.  THE YOUTH The youth today are the main targets of our advocacy. They are the key to changing the future. As impressionable youths, they are more open to change and new knowledge. Gender Identity is an individual's internal sense of being male, female, some combination of male and female, or neither male nor female. A person's gender identity may be the same or different as their birth-assigned sex. Meanwhile , a person whose gender identity agrees with their birth-assigned sex is called Cisgender . People commonly use pronouns as a way to identify their Gender Identity. For example, a nonbinary person may use they/them or it pronouns to address themselves. Gender Identity vs. Sexuality Gender Identity is different from your Sexuality, although, people may often confuse the two. Sexuality is your preference for your partner's gender or attribute. A person with a Nonbinary identity can be Asexual (no sexual attraction).
